Description

So what’s it like to study a degree course? Exclusively for students in years 9 to 12, this workshop allows students to pick their preferred study stream and participate in classes just like a regular Box Hill undergraduate student. This is an excellent chance for students to get an in-depth, interactive chance to experience life as a Box Hill undergraduate student. They will get the chance to tour our facilities, speak with currently enrolled students and experience the student life.

From sound production to biosecurity, Box Hill Institute offers a range of degree-level courses. If you are interested in studying a degree, or would like to find out more about a particular area of degree-level study, register now.

Content:

  • Degree Course Structure
  • Managing Timetables
  • Classroom Expectations
  • Home Study Commitment
  • Project and Group Assignments - challenges and expectations
  • Study Techniques
  • Time Management (including working whilst studying)
  • Work placement/Internships
  • Networks and support

Course experts from each study stream will be available to share with you the intricacies of their programs.

After lunch, participants will attend a presentation on student life at Box Hill Institute and the Degree courses we offer. The presentation will also include discussion on what jobs are available in the various study streams and pathways to other programs.
