A Campfire Story
Event Information
About this event
Beyond the crackling fire, between the shadows of trees, past the lapping waters of the dam - a mysterious creature stalks the darkness.
Will that scare you off? Or will you make it to our campfire, and hear our tale?
-
Jane Mackilgray is a mother struggling to keep her family together after the death of her husband. Her two sons hate each other, her daughter-in-law wants to take over the farm. And there are shadows in her house.
She saw them whisper to her husband. Now, she sees them whispering to her sons. Outside, a wolf howls in the bushland.
Come warm your hands over the fire, and hear what happens next.
-
A CAMPFIRE STORY is an immersive, site specific work that’s a modern take on oral story-telling traditions. Inspired by the camp legends, ghost stories, and family histories that we all heard growing up, this play asks how we can come back from the brink after having lost everything.

This is an open air event with no cover. Up until the point of heavy rainfall, we will endeavor to perform the play in all weather conditions. Because of this, we heavily encourage you bring warm clothing, rain jackets, umbrellas, and waterproof shoes.
If we have enough time before the show to predict that it will definitely rain us out, we will move the performance to an indoor venue. If we do this, we will notify you of the venue change within a reasonable amount of time.
If heavy rainfall surprises us during a performance, we will stop the show. If this happens, we'll do our best to reschedule your tickets for another night to see the play.
Because the venue is a nature reserve, a strict lockout applies. The gates will be locked ten minutes before the show starts, so we strongly recommend you arrive with time to spare.
