Mindfulness has become a bit of a buzz word these days but it’s popularity is growing for a reason…many reasons actually. There are countless benefits to incorporating these self empowering tools into your life. To name a few:

There is over 30 years of scientific study behind this 8 week course, proven to help people better manage their day to day struggles and approach life from a more present, grateful and compassionate state of mind. Each persons experience will be unique and the practice is suited to all.


The course is designed to help you develop an understanding of mindfulness practices and how to integrate them in to your day to day life. The course is based on the successful Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program that was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. He has defined Mindfulness as “paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgmentally.”


That feeling of being fully alive and present in the moment, is always available to us. It sounds simple but isn’t necessarily easy if we haven’t developed the right tools. It is one thing to understand this practice on an intellectual level, however the benefits come from experiential learning. It is through the practice that you will develop the tools for mindful living. Why put off till tomorrow what you can achieve today? DATES: Weekly, Thursdays from March 29th to May 17th

TIMES: 6pm-8pm

RETREAT: Sunday May 6th 12pm-5pm

INVESTMENT: $330 early bird (less than $16 per hour) if booked before March 10th

Full price $380 if booked after March 10th



BASIC COURSE OVERVIEW:


Over 8 weeks, you will experience the key mindfulness practices of mindful movement, breath meditation, walking meditation, gentle yoga, body scan, kindness meditation. This is a secular course and requires no prior practice of yoga or meditation. During the course, we will be meeting once a week for 2 hours. During weeks 6 and 7, there will be a silent retreat day; we will gather together for 5 hours to practise a variety of mindfulness techniques, helping you to firmly establish your new skills and to prepare you for integrating these in to your everyday life. There will also be guidelines provided for daily practice at home.


On your first day, you will be provided with a participant workbook and be given access to MP3 recordings to assist you with your home practice. Only 12 spaces will be made available for this course to ensure you receive a personalised experience while also reaping the benefits of a group environment.
