Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

On 1 August 1946, The Australian National University (ANU) was established by an Act of Federal Parliament. Our founders envisaged an intellectual powerhouse that would take its place among the world’s great universities and help Australia realise its place in the region and the world.

As we near our 70th anniversary we reflect on our many outstanding achievements. For a university as young as ours, ANU has delivered a great legacy – a legacy of research excellence, of outstanding teaching and exceptional people who have made extraordinary contributions to our nation.

The University will come together on 1 August 2016 to celebrate our 70th Birthday. Join us at Llewellyn Hall* from 11am as we mark this very special occasion followed by a BBQ** and birthday cake outside the ANU School of Music*** from 12.30pm.

We kindly ask you register for each event individually so we can keep track of numbers. In case of wet weather the BBQ will be held outside the ANU School of Music.

* The Llewellyn Hall event is fully booked. Watch the live stream on Facebook or YouTube from 11am.
** BBQ open to all ANU staff, students and alumni. Most dietary requirements will be catered for. Please RSVP by 5pm, Tuesday 26 July.
*** BBQ has changed to ANU School of Music due to recent wet weather.
