Description

Welcome to our 2017 Law For Community Workers series - use this link to book if you want to attend via WEBCAST (use the other link if you would like to attend in person).

The Law for Community Workers series is aimed at providing community workers with an understanding of key areas of law and legal procedures that are relevant for their clients. The sessions also provide information about community legal resources, and community legal advice and legal assistance services - enabling community workers to make timely, appropriate referrals for legal advice and legal assistance, and to support their clients in navigating the legal system.

Session Description

“Family Violence Law” : This seminar will provide an overview of legal responses to family violence: contacting specialist police units, seeking intervention orders, practical steps to consider and a look at some of the specialist services that may be able to assist, including specialist help from the Legal Services Commission.
