Description

The 2017 International Association for Dental Research conference ANZ divisional meeting will be held at the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences building, University of Adelaide, Adelaide, South Australia from 25 - 27 September 2017. The event will be hosted by the Adelaide Dental School.

The theme of the conference “Transforming research for oral health gain” draws on the Adelaide Dental School's long and distinguished contribution to dental research as 2017 will mark the 50th anniversary of the publication of the results of Dr Betty Fanning’s first fluoride toothpaste trials conducted in Adelaide.

The local organising committee acknowledges the continued support of Colgate-Palmolive and plans are well underway to hold a diverse and high calibre scientific program supported by eminent national and international speakers.

It is anticipated the event will attract both national and international dental researchers to Adelaide in 2017. The conference will provide guests with a platform to engage with leading researchers and also explore the wonderful Adelaide and South Australia region.

The full programme will be available soon at: http://health.adelaide.edu.au/news/2017/03/17/international-association-for-dental-research-iadr-australia-and-new-zealand

Included in all full tickets is attendance at the welcome reception and gala dinner. If you would like a companion to attend the welcome reception or gala dinner please select the accompanying person registration and provide their name. Attendance at the gala dinner is not included for day registrants, please register separately for the dinner if you wish to attend.

Policy Solutions for Oral Health Inequalities - Sunday 24 September

Over 3.6 billion individuals suffer from oral diseases globally. The burden of oral diseases is borne disproportionately by poor people and poor societies. Academics and policy makers from 15 countries committed to tackling oral health inequalities have formed a global network ‘International Centre for Oral Health Inequalities Research & Policy’ (ICOHIRP), which was launched with a successful conference in London, UK on 21 May 2015. The Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health (ARCPOH) at The University of Adelaide, is Australia's pre-eminent population oral health research body undertaking dental research and provides a broad range of dental and oral health statistics for Australia. ARCPOH is a member organization in the ICOHIRP network, and recognizes the importance of addressing persistent oral health inequalities locally and globally. In partnership with ICOHIRP, ARCPOH is organizing a one day conference themed ‘Policy Solutions for Oral Health Inequalities’ in Adelaide, South Australia on 24 September 2017. This event will also run as a Pre-Conference workshop for the International Association of Dental Research’s (IADR) regional 2017 conference.
