About this Event

The 4th Annual National flying-fox Forum will be held at Rydges Capital Hill - Canberra, Forrest Suite, 17 Canberra Avenue, Forrest, ACT on 14th November, 2019.

The National flying-fox Forum is an annual initiative to facilitate a national, coordinated approach to flying-fox conservation and management in Australia.

This year's forum follows on from successful events held in 2016, 2017 and 2018, bringing together over 100 dedicated individuals from all levels of government, non-government organisations, universities, environmental consultancies and community groups to explore the issues of flying-fox management and conservation.

The 2018 forum in Cairns provided an opportunity to reach our regional centres and delve into little-red and spectacled flying-fox matters as well as the continued sharing of information through formal presentations.

The 2019 forum in Canberra provides an opportunity for land managers and researchers from across four states to share updates and findings on flying-fox management and practices and to participate in a break out session on topics such as dispersal, translocation and innovative management.

The forum will provide up-to-date research and insight into the management and conservation of flying-foxes and their habitat right across their range.

What are my accommodation options?

Rydges Capital Hill Canberra are offering a "Delegates" accommodation deal of 10% off subject to availability.

If delegates would like to make a reservation for the conference they will need to call the hotel directly. They will need to quote the name of the conference which is: Ecosure Conference. Delegates will then receive 10% off the best available rate at the time of booking.

Accommodation Options

What are my parking options at the event?

Rydges Capital Hill offers secure, undercover car parking for all delegates attending meetings or conferences at the hotel.

Car parking is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. A fee of $12.00 per car per day applies.

On arrival, delegates can park in the main driveway of the hotel and come to the hotel reception desk and advise the staff member on the Reception Desk that they are attending a meeting and confirm the name of the meeting.

Once parking has been paid and number plate has been registered in our system, delegates will be given a car park pass to display on their dash board and advised how to access the car park.
