Work engagement is an essential driver of success of organisations. Highly engaged workforces produce more work of higher quality and with more satisfied stakeholders and customers than lowly engaged workforces. But what is it that drives engagement?

In partnership with Deakin University in 2015 SACS undertook a major study into work engagement and its causes. We found that we could explain 64% of the variance in engagement of over 1000 employees through four key factors.

In this two-hour Evidence-Based Insight seminar we will deal with the following topics:

  • Psychological markers of employees who are typically highly engaged
  • Job characteristics which tend to cause people to be committed and energetic at work
  • Team characteristics which drive engagement
  • Leadership behaviours and activities which maximise engagement
  • The role of the organisation in ensuring that it employs a highly engaged
  • Suggestions for driving these four key markers to ensure that engagement is high and remains high.
