Event description
Online family violence awareness training for people living/working in City of Whitehorse and surrounding areas

About this event

Violence in the community is everyone’s business and we all have a part to play in ending it. An initiative of Eastern Domestic Violence Service (EDVOS), 3Rs of Family Violence is an online training designed to build the capacity and confidence of community members and organisations to help people experiencing family violence.

Participants will learn the 3Rs framework:

  • Recognise - how to recognise signs of family violence
  • Respond - how to respond appropriately to disclosures of family violence
  • Refer - how to safely make referrals to specialist family violence services

The training also teaches participants about the gendered nature of family violence and how to engage in conversations that challenge community attitudes that reinforce gender inequality. The training content will include information about how to support children and young people experiencing family violence.

Places are limited (max.25), so secure your place today. Training will be cancelled if less than 5 people are registered for the session.

Before training please read the EDVOS Online Training Safety Sheet and complete a short pre-training survey (these will be emailed from EDVOS to your registered email address prior to the training).

Training runs for 3 hours and is conducted online via ZOOM. You will be able to enter 10 mins prior.

If you have any issues on the day, please call EDVOS on 9259 4200.

3Rs of Family Violence training is proudly supported by Box Hill Central Rotary Club.
