About this event

Volunteering provides an entry point for young people to determine their own priorities, set their own agendas and engage with young people to participate in various causes they are interested into.

It is important for young people to recognise the benefit of volunteering build self-esteem and confidence, personal growth and satisfaction, being a part of something meaningful by helping others and create positive impact to the lives of fellow young people and or the community.

Increases young people social capital by meeting new people, making new friends through network and provide the opportunities to develop new social and creative relationships.

Their ability to engage with and feel being a part of a group has been found to bring about a critical awareness among young people of the issues faced by their community or society more generally, and develop a greater sense of belonging.

This session is to all the young people or parents across the Shire who want to understand how does youth volunteering work and to help them discover their social potential and be a part of a wider community. Young people wanting to make a larger impact in the world. Learn how to grow your confidence, set inspiring and effective goals, develop new friendships, increase your self-awareness, and improve your communication skills.
