Event description

Description

Roundtable Discussion facilitated by Miriam Ross

Globally, and here in Wellington, there has been a significant surge in 360 degree filmmaking with advancing camera rigs, strategies for dealing with the lack of off-screen space and innovative ideas around storytelling. There are also a number of challenges when working with this technology and we are at an exciting point in time when the solutions are still in the process of being worked out.

This roundtable is designed for anyone who has been creating 360 degree footage and is keen to discuss the issues they are working on.

Please come prepared to talk about a specific aspect (render time for stitching/how to boost practicals when other lighting can’t be incorporated/how to work with actors in 360 degree space/etc).

Space is limited so get in quick!

Miriam Ross is a Senior Lecturer in the Film Programme at Victoria University of Wellington. She teaches and publishes research on film industries, new cinema technologies, and digital media environments.
