Event description
Organ concert and history talk in celebration of the 30 year anniversary since the magnificent J.W. Walker & Sons Organ was installed.

About this event

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to hear about the journey to commission and install the ‘new’ J.W. Walker & Sons Adelaide Town Hall organ .

For this concert you will have the opportunity to see inside the J.W. Walker & Sons Organ with a live recording of the inner mechanics of the instrument while enjoying the music being played by Peter Kelsall.

The program will include a series of talks by Andrew Baghurst about the history of the organ and its intricate and quality features. Andrew was the curator of the Adelaide Town Hall organ for a number of years and oversaw the installation of the instrument. There will be 40 minutes of organ music in between the talk.

Please note, this event will go for 1hr and15 minutes and the program will feature works by J.S Bach, Franck Chorale, George Thalben-Ball & Ralph Vaughan Williams. Seating will be a checkerboard approach with one seat in between each person. Bookings essential. We hope to see you there!

This organ concert is proudly presented by the City of Adelaide as part of South Australia's History Festival.
