Event description

Description

Cartooning is probably one of the last forms of freehand drawing with no boundaries. Cartoonists express themselves and develop their own styles just by being shown the basics of drawing on any surface with their medium of choice be it pencil, brush, pen or computer tablet.

Join John Stoneham, professional cartoonist, for three workshops over three weeks. The program will cover the basics of cartooning, cartoon publishing, advertising and computer methods of cartooning.

This is a 3 day workshop which runs on Wednesday's 31 January, 7 and 14 February.

John Stoneham is a professional cartoonist whose work was first published in the Rowley Park speedway program. He is known for his motoring and sports illustrations. After filling in at The News as a political cartoonist, he joined the team fulltime in May 1984. His work is well known around the country.

This workshop is open to people of all levels, and there is no assumed knowledge required. Participants should be over 18 years to participate.

This workshop is presented by the State Library of South Australia in collaboration with the Centre of Democracy.
