Description

----

Underwater Rugby is an exciting three-dimensional team sport played entirely underwater. Canberra's Underwater Rugby Club, The Canberra Underdogs, is hosting an Introduction Course for new players to the sport.

Not only is underwater rugby a unique sport (for both men and women) that is great for your fitness, but it will also teach you skills that will improve your snorkeling and diving experience. It is also just addictively fun!

The sport is physical, but not violent or dangerous (despite what the name might suggest!). And no, people do not drown playing this sport. New participants will always be eased into it at a pace that suits them.

The program is designed to teach participants of all levels some of the fundamental skills needed to play underwater rugby. The focus will be on fun, as well as learning. But if you want to feel challenged, we can definitely arrange that for you too!

The beginners course is 4 week program held at AIS Pool in July:

- Monday 10th: 6:30pm - 8:45pm

- Monday 17th: 6:30pm - 8:45pm

- Monday 24th: 7:30pm - 9:15pm

- Monday 31st: 7:30pm - 9:15pm

All you need is standard snorkling equipment - a mask, snorkel and rubber swimming fins. If you don't have kit, the club can provide these at no extra cost - just let us know.

The cost is $15 for each session or $50 upfront for all 4 sessions. Standard AIS pool entry fee is also required to be paid.

If you are interested, please register on this event page. Please also feel free to share this with your friends!
