Event description

Description

Australia is one of the most multicultural nations in the world. The successful integration of migrants over many generations is one of the country’s greatest achievements. In addition, Australia has a strong commitment to ensuring the equitable participation in society of diverse groups, including the indigenous community, people living with a disability, and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer community.

But there is more to do and it is important to ensure there is continuing respect and opportunities for all.

The 2nd National Advancing Community Cohesion Conference – Today’s Challenges and Solutions is a national forum for national and international experts to examine more effective and new ways of promoting harmony and resilience within diverse communities and societies.

Join over 250 decision-makers, thought leaders, influencers, and practitioners from government, civil society and the private sector, to discuss the challenges confronting social cohesion and community resilience, and explore ways to more effectively address them.

The Conference is an opportunity to: share expertise, experiences and lessons learned; participate in workshops to strengthen practical knowledge and skills; and network, build contacts and facilitate partnerships and collaboration.

The Conference is designed to achieve practical outcomes and inform participants’ ongoing work in the social cohesion space, as well as contribute to policies and strategies at national, state and local levels.
