25 Years of Stucco: An Alumni Celebration
Sat. 3 December 2016, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm AEDT
Stucco. A home of curiousity, frustration, leadership, love, confusion, support, awkwardness, politics, strength, apathy and inspiration. No matter which way you look at it, Stucco certainly adds colour to our uni years.
This place means a constellation of things to all of us. No matter how bizarre of a time we had, Stucco still holds a wry, sparkling charm in our hearts.
At this special alumni event, the current generation of Stuccwits are inviting past members to step back in to 197 Wilson St to celebrate those good, weird, transformative times of your life. We want to recognise how far Stucco has come in 25 years and what we have to look forward to. We want to find out who you are, the mystical ex-stuccwits who are out living life in the Real World. What was it like when you lived here? What did you think of Stucco then, and now? Is it true that some things never change?
To celebrate this milestone we thought we better have a party. We'll have guest speakers from various points in Stucco's history, an interactive exhibition and of course, the trusty couryard as our dancefloor.
If you haven't thought about Stucco in the 15 years since you left, if you remember your most dramatic GM like yesterday, if you married your Stucco sweetheart - whoever you are in Stucco's history- we want to have a beer with you!!! Partners are welcome, if you'd like to bring kids let us know and we can sort something out :)
We know you all have busy lives, so we've made the event so you can float in and out whenever you like. Here's a rough timeline:
Saturday 3rd December
- 3pm: Doors open
- 4pm: BBQ kicks off
- 5pm: Speeches
- 7pm: Bands
- 9pm-midnight: DJs to get your dance on
Please spread the word to your old housemates with this event link - we look forward to seeing you there !
Love, Stuccwits 2016
Ps. This also falls in the midst of our milestone Solar+Storage Project installation. Stucco is going to be 80% self-sufficient and the first building in Australia to have shared community electricity! To find out more about the project visit our Facebook Page, or send us some support on our crowdfunder :)
