Its a place that encourages each individual student to develop critical thinking that empowers and builds a deeper relationship with the practice and the needs of the individual.

Vincent Bolletta has spent his yoga journey exploring the many styles of yoga, searching for the essence of the yoga practice and how it applies to the functional lives of everyday practitioners.

Vincent has been teaching and practicing yoga since 1990 and has been involved with the health and wellness industry even longer. This has lead him to becoming New Zealand’s foremost yoga instructor and teacher trainer with a wealth of knowledge in biomechanics, yoga therapy, movement therapy and postural analysis.

Vincent encompasses in his teaching private sessions, general classes and yoga retreats. He has also worked along side with some of New Zealand’s top athletes. He spent 16 years as a presenter, educator and yoga coach for Les Mills. With 28 years teaching and practice experience Vincent now regularly travels internationally to Europe, USA, and Asia to teach and deliver the “Art of Yoga” He is a co-founder of the Centre for Contemporary Yoga Studies, a place of yoga teacher training based in Auckland, New Zealand where 200 and 500 hours Yoga Teacher Training programmes are delivered.

Vincent is also the founder of hañsa Yoga a unique style that integrates eastern and western thought and methodologies to the practice of yoga. hañsa Yoga has developed a 200 hours and 500 hours yoga therapy training programme that supports a process of healing and awakening through principles of human fundamental movement patterns. Using this as the basis to gain greater insight to individual function as well as understanding ones physical, mental and energetic needs. hañsa Yoga is also about exploring the subtle aspects of the breath to discover the artistry of internal flow and form. Vincent has also created hañsa flow an intensive that teaches how to design and sequence a yoga practice or class that is creative, imaginative and therapeutic. Through this practice we will unravel and engage our unique stories in a way to evoke a postural evolution that will only enhance skill and poise on all levels.

Vincent has a bent for creativity in all avenues of living with a particular passion for photography. While developing his own photographic skills he has also worked collaboratively with photographer Marc Mateo on a series of yoga photographs which have been exhibited in New Zealand and the USA and have also been published by Yoga Journal Russia and China.

What is Hañsa Flow?

Hañsa Flow© is designed to support optimal movement performance and postural function with greater ease. Through Hañsa Flow© we will further develop an understanding of human movement and natural biomechanical rhythms. Hañsa Flow© strips back developmental movement to its seed form to explore functionality, integration and balance from both a experiential and scientific prospective. Within the Hañsa Flow© practice all human body movement potential is explored in safe and adaptive manner. By creating dialogue about relevance and appropriatness of movement we will begin to investigate our intentions verses our current relationships to individual function of our physical, mental and energetic needs. We will also explore the subtle aspects of our breath in pursuit of supporting our bodies skeletal architecture and intricate interlinking muscular relationships that support function both on a internal and external basis. The artistry of moving from an internal form will be discussed through the integration of both eastern and western philosophy and methodologies. Hañsa Flow© will unravel and engage our movements habits in a way that will evoke a greater postural reconnection that will not only enhance skill, grace and poise on all levels as well support, reintegrate and rehabilitate patterns of misuse.

Hañsa Flow© programs are based upon a layered choreographic system that supports the practitioner to fully realise their individual physical goals. There are 4 levels of practice from basic, intermediate and advance moving formats that supports all beginners and experienced students to understand the Hañsa Flow© system. Our final Hañsa Flow© program has been created to challenge the more experienced/teacher or seasoned practitioner to fully realise their movement potential and further explore alternative ways of sensing and interacting with space and body movement. The Hañsa Flow© choreographic system is taught via a tiered approach where movement phrases are delivered in stages to support students learning styles. Students will learn that demonstration and appropriate language techniques are essential building blocks to presenting Hañsa Flow, this gives greater movement opportunities to all students. The Hansa Flow© training is about giving the student a unique and direct experience of their bodies, a process that may start to question or deconstruct any general stereotypes that we have of our bodies, yoga and movement. Hañsa Flow© training is about giving students opportunities to further empower and support their unique yogic journey.

Principles of Hañsa Flow©

Midline – Consideration of the central and internal line of the core body that interconnects the head and tail. This connection is both adaptable and fluid which by nature integrates and distributes external and internal generated force equally throughout the body. This supports and links both the different regions that makeup our body and aligns their gravitational centres with each other that aids efficient movement and stability.

Awareness – Understanding the multifaceted levels of awareness required to understand space and flow that coordinates bodily actions. We will expand both depth and field of attention that tiers movement and develops confidence.

Breath – Utilising and understanding the breath as the centre of organising both awareness and activity. Linking the practice of intention, attention and action by expanding the concept of 3 dimensionality, Neuromuscular patterning, central point of expansion and contraction.

Progression – Understanding, movement progression from developmental patterns. Purposefully creating inhibitory actions to contrast actions and expectations.

Intention – Using intention to set both internal (physiological) and external (Structural) environments that expresses more properly our motivations.

The art of sequencing – Expanding consequential awareness to learn the piecing together of movement

Form Follows Function – Prospective of Asana from a functional appreciation of the body in movement.

Simple – Understanding that simple enables to set the foundations of movement. Head, neck, thoracic and pelvis and their behavioural qualities.

Balance – Creating a balance between the elements of effort, shape, movement, breath and space.

The focus of internally integrating yoga postures from the perspective of seamlessly joining masculine and feminine movements. Allowing natural developmental patterns to guide are movements we will develop a deeper intrinsic reference point that supports our flow from the inside out.

This workshop reveals from a practical point of view that opening your heart is not based stereotypically on back bending. We will explore that to “open” is actually a bio mechanical principle that requires the thoracic body to have 3 dimensional relationship too breathing and moving. In this class we will explore techniques in to achieve this.

What you will learn?

As a teacher you will develop a greater understanding around what it is to flow which fully’s supports your students to appreciate their own natural flow pattens.

Students will also learn through this training that yoga is not about postures but transitions.

Learn and understand that how we move is the focus, and that any movement expresses our inner most motivations.

Start to understand the scientific aspects to body movement.

Students will appreciate that their natural rhythms are based upon circular relationships or mandala like shapes that speak of geometrical patterns that support structure and fluidity.

Students will also learn that all movement big or small starts and finishes from an internal prospective.

Students will also learn how to “body read” a process that assesses the mover and their habitual patterns.

Hañsa Flow© is about developing a more organic approach to body movement and the practicing of yoga.

Students will learn Hañsa Nidra a practice that fully supports the neurological developmental components that supports movement, awareness and balance.

*This training requires minimum 1 year of practice, not suitable for pregnancy. Injuries are welcomed but need screening.
