About this event

Overview

The BCN Committee believes that the network is the foundation of who we are. Each group, organisation and agency are an important and valuable stakeholder. We strive to always hear your voice. We invite you to participate in the formation of our five-year strategic plan.

This strategic plan will be a document identifying what are our organisational goals and priorities, what we want to achieve in the future and how we can get there. We aim to have this plan complete by March 2022 and for it to be our planning document for 2023-27.

What is the purpose of this project?

The BCN has grown significantly over the last 5 years. It is now appropriate to develop a guiding document to help direct our initiatives, projects, funding opportunities and collaborations. We want the plan to provide focus for our organisation which will increase our efficiency and effectiveness. All stakeholders will have the opportunity to contribute at multiple points. Once complete, the plan will be made publicly available via our website.

What do we hope to achieve?

With involvement from our staff, committee, the network and other stakeholders, we will incorporate a wide range of ideas and feedback to achieve the following within this plan:

- A summary of who we are as an organisation;

- Refine our vision and mission;

- Detail our organisational values;

- Map out organisational goals and objectives for the next 5 years;

- Confirm operational structure for delivering Network goals; and

- Identify and detail measures of success.

The following is what we previously developed for our Vision. It is time to revisit and review it:

Vision: “The Bellarine Catchment Network region will work towards healthy, well connected and resilient wetlands, waterways and native vegetation ecosystems; sustainable agricultural and land management practices; and a community which is engaged and involved in protecting and managing the natural environment and minimising threatening processes.” (adopted with changes to Rules in 2021).

This vision is reflected in our current constitution or rules as our Purpose.

Is this relevant and does it reflect current priorities? This plan is your opportunity to have a say. For example; we have the following statement on our website: “Community driven projects to protect and enhance the environmental values of the Bellarine”.

Notes: This is a Covid-19 safe event. We require all attendees to be fully vaccinated unless they have a valid medical exemption. We will be checking for vaccination status upon entry.
