About this event
This event is part of The 2030 Movement, a free week-long festival of learning. Head to The2030Movement.com to see the full schedule.
In this era of mass urbanisation, nine out of ten people live in a town or city and two thirds in one of the capital cities. Cities generate a majority of countries’ gross domestic product and are social and cultural hubs, ranking highly every year on liveability indices. With services, infrastructure and resources under increasing strain from a growing and ageing population, it is vital that we be well prepared to ensure cities remain sustainable, resilient and liveable for all.
As the international smart cities movement grow mature, cities must move fast to put together smart city strategic framework to remain the frontrunner in the global race. Local governments and councils should thus consider the coming years as the testing grounds for reaching new heights enabled by breakthroughs in data and digital technologies as well as collaborative efforts between key stakeholders.
Join our panel discussion as we gather some of APAC's most incredible minds to discuss the technologies shaping our future cities. The panel will be discussing how the use of data and technology can create efficiencies, improve sustainability, create economic development, and enhance quality of life factors for people living and working in the city. This event is an opportunity to learn from the best in the industry and gain some serious insight about the future of modern cities around the world.

We deliver more than 400 infrastructure projects to build a better Casey from Harkaway to Tooradin, and everywhere in between.
The City of Casey is a dynamic, customer focused, agile and strategic organisation, committed to delivering on Council’s and the community’s vision for the future.
Blakthumb
Blakthumb provides an integrated technology-driven end-to-end controlled-environment agricultural (CEA) model.
We operate CEA farms to grow food sustainably and at a commercial scale closer to people, and provide an end-to-end service from planning through to operation of the farm and distribution of the food. We are doing this to secure our food supply as traditional farming is placed at greater risk from climate impacts and access is hindered by supply chain complexity and fragility.
