Co-hosted by the Development Policy Centre and The University of the South Pacific’s School of Accounting, Finance and Economics, Pacific Update is the premier forum for discussion of economic, social, political, and environmental issues in the region.

The conference gathers policymakers, academics, researchers, business people, and development practitioners and provides the opportunity to discuss ideas and network with people from across the region.

Registration is free and open to the public.

Online registration will close at 5pm AEST on Thursday 23 June.

For those unable to attend, the conference will also be livestreamed.

The Development Policy Centre (Devpolicy) is a think tank for aid and development serving Australia, the region, and the global development community. Devpol undertakes independent research and promotes practical initiatives to improve the effectiveness of Australian aid, to support the development of Papua New Guinea and the Pacific island region, and to contribute to better global development policy. Devpolicy was established in September 2010 and is based at Crawford School of Public Policy in the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific at The Australian National University.

The School has a strong research profile in poverty, labor market, finance and banking, migration, economics of governance, migration, and population studies. It also takes a leading role in contributing to critical issues impacting the region through national economy updates, research and consultancy, public policy dialogues, and public policy workshops for public and private sector.
