Event description
You are invited to attend a Mass at St Mary MacKillop Parish, Oran Park

About this Event

At present weekend Masses are celebrated on Saturday (Vigil) at 5pm, and Sunday at 8am & 10am at our Oran Park Mass Centre

(Until further notice, no Masses will be celebrated at our Leppington Mass Centre)

----------------------------------------------

Following the NSW Premier's announcement that 'places of public worship' can move to 2sqm per person, the seating capacity at our Oran Park Mass Centre has now increased: thus allowing more people to pre-register to attend a weekend Mass.

----------------------------------------------

Seating has been arranged into 'household pods' with seating configurations of 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1 seats.

You are asked to book a 'pod' based on the number of people in your household.

(If you have a household of 6, you can book two '3 seat pods)

- Only those who are in the same household are allowed, under the covid protocols, to be seated together in the same 'pod'

- If you are registering your family/household for one of the Masses, please count ALL of the children (including infants/babies) who will be attending.

----------------------------------------------

Other important information about attending Mass:

-- To allow Masses to be livestreamed to the sick and homebound (via our Parish YouTube channel) a camera has been installed to face the altar/sanctuary. Those seated in seats around the altar/sanctuary (ie. the front section of the church) will be in view of the camera. Those who do not wish to be ‘caught’ on camera are, on arrival at the church, to sit in 'seating pods' located in the rear section of the church, or the areas in the front section of the church that are out of the 'sight-line' of the camera. A map showing the 'sight-line' of the camera can be found on the noticeboard.

-- We have now put in place a ‘timed entry’ process to help us to avoid congestion at the doors of the church (and to ensure the 1.5m social distancing requirements)

We ask those households whose surnames begin with letters from A-M to please arrive 20 minutes before Mass is scheduled to begin. Those households whose surnames begin with letters N-Z, please arrive 15 minutes before Mass is scheduled to begin. (While waiting to enter the church, please ensure that there is 1.5m between your household, and the households in front and behind you)

-- Those who arrive late for Mass will be unable to enter the church building. Due to the mandatory QR process it is not possible for Attendance Monitors to try and assist people to 'check-in' once the Mass has begun.

-- Digital registration via QR code has now been made mandatory, by the NSW Government, for all those attending 'places of worship'

To achieve quick and efficient entry to Mass, it is recommended all parishioners download the "Service NSW App" prior to arriving at the church.

On arrival at Mass you are asked to follow these 3 easy steps:

1) Use the QR code posters that are displayed around the church, to scan the QR code using your mobile/tablet;

2) Once you scan the QR code, you will fill in the details required. PLEASE NOTE - as you will be asked to 'list your dependents' only one registration is required per household - there is no need to individually check in each member of your household.

3) Upon completion of your registration, your mobile/tablet will display a receipt which you will show to the Attendance Monitor (leave your phone open) who will then proceed with your Eventbrite 'check-in' and direct you to your seats.

-- For parishioners who do not have access to a mobile/tablet, the Attendance Monitors will assist with digital registration. Parishioners should be mindful of delays at entry should they not have access to a mobile/tablet.

-----------------------------------------------

• Monitors will only allow those whose names and contact details have been pre-registered to enter the church;

• The church toilets and bathroom facilities will not be available for use.

-------------------------------------

• Please remember that the Bishop's dispensation from the Sunday obligation to attend Mass remains in place. So if you are unable to secure a ticket to attend a Mass being offered at our Oran Park Mass Centre we encourage you to participate in our 5pm Saturday Vigil Mass that is now livestreamed on our parish YouTube channel at www.bit.ly/mmop-live (This Mass can also be viewed ‘on demand’ via our parish YouTube Channel)
