ICAS Assessments™ - Recognising academic excellence

About this event

ICAS Assessments™ are designed to recognise academic excellence. Students are assessed on their ability to apply classroom learning to new contexts using higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills.

Janison is a professional examination management service, with over 30 years of experience managing high stakes assessments for the education sector. Our team of invigilators are trained and experienced professionals who work tirelessly to create a positive student exam experience.

Janison is delighted to provide a test opportunity for students whose school, is not participating in the ICAS Assessments™ for the applicable subject they are seeking to participate in.

*Registration is limited to 1 subject per student per session. Students wishing to sit multiple subjects must register for multiple sessions.

Students wishing to sit ICAS through Janison must;

• Participate in the year level they are currently in at school.

• Confirm that their school is not participating in the ICAS Assessments™ for the applicable subject they are seeking to participate through Janison.

• Register and pay for a scheduled session. Students will not be granted entry if they have not pre-purchased a ticket.

COVID-19 safety message

In response to the COVID-19 developments and ongoing lockdowns, we have now moved the ICAS tests to be run remotely from home to give communities and families peace of mind. There will be no in-person testing for ICAS at any JEM testing centres.

We will contact you prior to your child’s test day to provide further instructions on this remote delivery.

Please Note: ICAS at Home Exam Conditions

  1. Room: Please provide your child(ren) with a quiet space that is free from external disruptions. If you have multiple children sitting, ensure that they are not too close to avoid distractions.
  2. Desk: Please provide your child(ren) with adequate space to complete the exam. Their desk should have minimal clutter.
  3. Allowed Items: Your child(ren) can complete their exam on a device of their choice. They are allowed to have access to a pen and paper for working out.
  4. Prohibited Items: Remove any items that are not allowed in the exam. These include: Phones, Electronic devices (other than the device your child is using), dictionaries, handheld calculators, notes, and any other materials that may give them an unfair advantage.
  5. Supervision: The teacher will inform your child the time limit (in minutes) to complete the test. Please ensure that you are monitoring your child(ren) for the duration of the test. This includes making sure they do not open another internet browser, and that they only leave their desk for bathroom breaks during the test time.
  6. Their own work: Your child(ren) must complete the test by themselves without any help. This includes not providing prompts, assisting them with answers, or giving them hints. If a child is finding the test difficult, encourage them to try their best and select the answer they think is most correct.
  7. Device: Prior to the test starting, make sure your child has closed any browsers that are not needed for the test.
