Entry to Twilight Art in the Park is free!

Register now for your free ticket for the film screening.

BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN for the art and craft workshops.

Twilight Art in the Park is an annual community festival held in and around the grounds of MGA. Presented by the Friends of MGA along with their supporters the City of Monash Community Grants and Ray White Glen Waverley.

Free activities around the grounds and inside the building include:

  • Face painting

  • MGA exhibition activities

  • Library bedtime storytime at 7pm

  • live music - Jazz band and the Oakleigh Brass Band

  • 'Mary Poppins Returns' family-friendly outdoor film screening at sundset. Bring a picnic blanket and join us on the lawn beside the lake.


Please register for the following free activities and workshops to secure your place.
Select your timed session when registering.

Kids and Families (suitable for ages 5-16+)

  • Chinese Brush-painting (45minute workshops) Select your session when registering one for Families (child and guardian together), one for Adults.


  • Life drawing with Frank from Last Peek Life Drawing Events (costumed model) in the gallery, suitable for all ages, all materials provided. Tutored Session: 6-8pm join the effervescent Frank, tune into the music and draw like you never have before.

  • African Drumming workshops - all ages. (30minute workshops)

  • Photowalk around the grounds. Bring your own camera (any kind, phones included) for this fun walk. Session: 5-6pm

  • Art and Craft Market with local craftspeople


  • MGA Cafe will be open serving a unique takeaway menu, perfect for sitting on the grass to watch the film


  • Please note - this is an all weather event. Most* activities (excluding the film screening) will be moved inside in the case of inclement weather. (*excluding the chalk pavement drawing, and likely the photowalk depending on weather severity).
  • Participants must check in with their ticket 10 minutes prior to their session beginning.
  • Please bring your tickets with you (electronic or printed). This will make checking-in quicker on the day.
  • Workshops often book out, however we do reserve a couple of places for walk-ins in each session, just ask at the Check-in desk 10 minutes prior to the session start time.
  • We can always squeeze in a few more people for life drawing - you may not have an easel but we do have drawing boards to rest on your lap or floor. Don't be shy!
  • Please note - there will be an official photographer on the day documenting the event. If you prefer to not be photographed please let the photographer know.

Film screening FAQs

  • The film screening will be postponed in the case of adverse weather. this may include hazardous bushfire smoke or thunderstorms.
  • You can bring your own picnic or purchase food on-site
  • The film screening event will begin at approx. 8pm with a short message from our sponsors, followed by the family-friendly film at approx. 8:40pm
  • Please bring your own picnic blankets, cushions or other low seating
  • The film will be located on the grassed area next to the lake, adult supervision of children is required at all times as the lake is not fenced
