Event description

Description

The 2019 TAMS Conference will focus on support and dealing with your mast cell disease.

The conference will feature a number of medical specialists including:

  • Professor Connie Katelaris AM
  • Professor Pete Smith
  • Associate Professor Katrina Randall
  • and many others...

to help give us a greater understanding of how to live with our mast cells; medications that can assist us; how to eat the foods that work for us; and how to get the best from working with our medical team.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Welcome from TAMS Chair David Mayne
  • Mastocytosis: diagnostic criteria, symptomology and manifestations
  • Coping toolbox
  • Exercise physiology
  • Managing surgery
  • Paediatrics mastocytosis
  • Mindfulness and chronic illness
  • Chronic path
  • Bone pain and bone loss
  • Epi pen usage

But by far, the greatest outcome from all our past conferences has been the strength we gain from meeting together face to face, connecting with others also walking their mast cell management journey and offering each other the encouragement we need to keep going and get the best from each day.

The Conference will be held at Animal Health Australia in Canberra from 10am Friday, 27 September - 1pm Sunday, 29 September 2019.

Download and read the TAMS Conference DRAFT program.
