Event description
Meet with the nation's thought leaders in work health and safety (WHS) to share knowledge and experience in the changing world of work.

About this Event

The Centre for WHS is hosting the inaugural National Work Health and Safety Colloquium on 13 August 2019.

This academic forum is the first of its kind in the Australian landscape, bringing together the nation-wide WHS academic community and an opportunity to collaborate, share and network with experts from an array of disciplines.

The day will examine new ideas in topical sessions where current research can be shared and new perspectives gained. The Colloquium will provide a platform for high profile speakers, leading researchers, students and industry professionals to shape future thinking in WHS.

The Colloquium's keynote speaker is Michael Tooma. Michael is widely recognised as Australia’s WHS legal expert and is the Managing Partner of Clyde & Co Australia. Michael has authored over 32 WHS-related text books in the last 20 years. His material includes a focus on due diligence and a positive investigation methodology. Michael is an honorary lecturer at UNSW, ANU and Edith Cowan University.

The day will discuss opportunities for the 2023 World Congress on Safety & Health at Work being held in Sydney, and workshop the new, current and emerging challenges in WHS.

If you would like to attend, please register above.

There is also an opportunity for you to present your research in one of the two sessions below. Select 'yes' in the drop-down menu to be contacted by a member of our staff to organise your session.
