About this Event

Connecting International Students Brisbane welcomes you to the 2019 International Student Voice Forum!

The International Student Voice Forum (ISVF) will be the 4th Forum organised by Connecting International Students Brisbane (CISB), and aims to be a fun, warm and interactive evening for international students to connect, chat and make a change.

By living, working and studying in Brisbane, international students bring huge social, cultural and economic benefits to the city, but life isn’t always easy. We want to bring people together and celebrate the strength and diversity of our communities as we support each other through the struggles of everyday life.

The ISVF is a FREE event organised and run by international students from different universities, schools and colleges across Brisbane. We aim to provide a fun, relaxing and safe place for international students around Brisbane to share their lived experience, struggles, expertise and concerns about study, work and life in Australia. International students’ voices matter as we are living in and contributing to society.

To help us organise and cater for the event, make sure you book a ticket to the forum and let us know if you have any special dietary requirements. The venue will be fully accessible, and refreshments will be provided. There will be very limited parking for this event in the surrounding area – best access is via bus (Kelvin Grove Bus Station).

About Connecting International Students Brisbane

The Connecting International Students Working Group initially evolved from the work of Sunnybank Uniting Church, in partnership with Brisbane City Council’s Youth Development and Regional Community Development Teams, to explore international students’ experiences, issues impacting their integration into community, their interests and hopes for life in Brisbane.

The CISB Working Group is a partnership between students, community organisations, universities and Brisbane City Council. Its main aim is to develop collaborative responses to the interests and needs of international students living in Brisbane’s South, to support their wellbeing and positive experiences of community life.
