Description

About the conference

The annual ACTS Conference, hosted by The University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic on 13–15 November, will draw together a diverse group of attendees from across Australia and New Zealand. Sustainability practitioners and influencers, educators, students, government and business partners, and sector support representatives will come together in Dunedin in November. In 2019 we focus on the need for the higher education sector to expand our impact. By moving beyond just creating sustainable campuses and curricula, institutions can realise their unique potential to champion sustainable development and shape a motived generation of leaders with the skills to tackle the critical environmental, economic and socio-political challenges we face today. We must recognise the urgency of these challenges and strengthen our contributions to becoming global leaders working towards a sustainable future.

About the awards

The Green Gown Awards Australasia is the first and only Award Scheme dedicated to recognising excellence in sustainability within the tertiary education sector in Australasia.

Celebrating their 10th year, the Awards have been firmly established as the most prestigious recognition of sustainability best practice within the tertiary education sector. They continue to recognise institutions, large and small and reward their sustainability actions and initiatives.

The regional awards are managed by Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability (ACTS) and governed by a cross-sector steering committee.
