Event Details

2019 GTASA Annual Conference - 3rd & 4th June

This year’s conference aims to give you plenty of options for professional learning. Engage with a variety of workshops, participate in a full day of fieldwork, or join a masterclass - there are options for everyone.

Our theme this year, Geography: Shaping Australia’s future, is inspired by the recent release of the decadal plan for Australian Geography. Our goal: to improve the visibility and integrity of Geography by raising geographical knowledge and understanding in our schools.

Conference participants attending on MONDAY will hear from our keynote speaker, Professor Mark Howden from the Climate Change Institute at ANU, and then will have the choice to either participate in workshops or attend a full day field trip. TUESDAY will be dedicated to spatial technologies masterclasses. Contour Education and ESRI Australia will be providing interested participants with the opportunity to upskill in this area of their teaching.

A FREE copy of third book in the Geography Unlockedseries will be given away with every ticket purchased. Geography Fieldwork Unlocked by Grant Kleeman will provide teachers with many fieldwork activities they can easily incorporate into their teaching and learning programs.

Full details of the conference of the program is available here.

(Please note participants need to BRING THEIR OWN DEVICES, including mobile hotspot)
