2018 VAESA Winter Conference
‘Connecting with and through Visual Arts’
As visual arts educators, we are all inspired by artworks and the artists who create them. Allowing our students to be inspired to create by engaging with artworks and artists is equally important, not only those historically significant or well-known artists, but also with local, living artists in our own community.
Regardless of who or what age our students are, or what type of learning environment we teach in, we all share the responsibility of inspiring our students. Where can we start? With primary sources: artworks and artists.
Both days of the 2018 VAESA Winter Conference are planned around this theme. On the Friday you will hear from leading educators, artists, professionals, and representatives from industry about ways to connect students meaningfully with artworks and artists. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to engage in smaller break out activities in a specific area of interest to you.
VAESA actively encourages visual arts educators to continuously develop their making skills, and on the Saturday you will have the opportunity to choose from a number of exciting workshops covering a range of media, working with practicing visual artists to enrich your own artistic practice.

VAESA will supply a light morning tea.

Where: University of South Australia, City East Campus, Dorrit Black Building, North Terrace, Adelaide
All registrations must be done online.
Cost:
Registration for both days $170.00 Members, $215.00 Non-Members.
Registration for Friday 3rd August only $120.00 Members, $165.00 Non-Members.
Registration for Saturday 4th August only $120.00 Members, $165.00 Non-Members.
Payment can be made online at time of your booking with credit card.
VAESA will provide morning tea on both days.
VAESA will provide lunch on Saturday.

Cancellations and refunds. In the event that we do not have enough participants by Wednesday the 25th July, all registrations will be refunded in full and the conference will be cancelled. No refunds - If a participant is unable to attend and requires to cancel, there will be no refund given, but the booking name can be changed to a friend or colleague with the same membership status, or pay the difference for change of membership status, a $5 transfer fee will apply.
