Welcome to the 2018 Tour de Wellard - A Bicycle Scavenger Hunt.

Join us on a leisurely ride, taking in all of the nooks and crannies of Wellard.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this?

This is a community event brought to you by The Village at Wellard Residents Association and Peet Limited. It is designed to showcase all of the great amenitities within The Village at Wellard, as well as promoting cycling as part of your daily commute.

But my bike isn't in working order?

Don't worry we have a local bike mechanic at the starting line ready to get your bike ready for the Tour and beyond. The bike mechanic will be there from 8:30am til 10am.

What do I get for winning?

This isn't a race. Take your time, enjoy the ride, see your Village a little differently.

Is this a team event, or can I ride solo?

This is designed as a team event for community members to discover their Village together.

If you wish to ride solo, that's OK too!

Who should I ask to be in my team?

Ask anyone and everyone. The more people we get down on the day the better.

Ask your family, housemates, neighbours, friends, enemies!

How many in a team?

Teams can be between 2 to 6 people.
If you promote it too well and have more than 6 people wanting in on your team you can easily split into two teams that start at similar times.

Do we have to wear lycra?

No! Wear what you feel is comfortable for a casual Sunday ride. If that comfortable garment is lycra, wear lycra!

Can our team dress up?

Yes, everything is more fun in dress ups!

I have registered my team. Does everyone in my team have to register too?

Everyone single rider taking part in the Tour de Wellard has to individually register.
The first prompt during the online registration process will be to enter the name of the team they will be riding with on the day.

I don't have a team but I want to join one?

If you don't have a team but wish to join one put FIND ME A TEAM as your team name.
The Tour de Wellard is a great place to meet new friends.

How long will it take to ride?

The Tour should take one to two hours to complete depending on how fast you ride and answer the questions.

Where is the start line?

We are starting from outside Bliss Momo's on The Strand. Our bike mechanic will be at the starting line.

Where is the finish line?

The Tour de Wellard will finish at the Wellard Adventure Park bound by Bellingham Parade, Heywood Road and Yately Way.

When should we start?

Groups will be leaving from Bliss Momos with staggered start times between 9am and 10am.

Teams will be allocated starting times this year as we want everyone to finish the Tour around a similar time.

Your fitness, cycling ability, group make up etc will all impact the time taken to complete the tour.

Stay tuned for an email from Eamonn at eamonn@creatingcommunities.com.au for your teams starting time.

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Anyone under the age of 18 will have to ride in a group with their registered parent and/or guardian.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

If you have any further questions please email thevillage@wellard.net.au

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

We will have the details of all teams at the starting line so need to bring your ticket.

Just make sure you come and see one of our friendly volunteers.

What do I need to bring?

A bike and helmet are a must

Can I update my registration information before the event?

You sure can! If you have any changes please email eamonn@creatingcommunities.com.au
