Description

We are currently looking for UQ engineering students to assist with the 2018 UQ Science and Engineering Challenge.

The three-day event will be held at the UQ Centre (St Lucia) providing Year 9-10 students from over 24 schools an opportunity to engage in engineering activities and learn problem-solving skills.

Students will be divided into various teams to compete with engineering-inspired activities ranging from ‘Mission to Mars, Bridge, Flat-pack' and many more. (Click here to see full activity listing)

As a volunteer, you will work in teams of 2-3 to assist in the supervision of the student teams competing in the activities on each day. Volunteers are required between 8am and 2.30pm daily.

We will also need your help with setup at UQ Centre on Tuesday, 27 Feb from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

Benefits:
• 1 volunteer t-shirt
• Lunch and refreshments on each day
• Volunteer certificate
• Your participation* can be credits counted towards the UQ Employability Award. (You need to volunteer for two days for credits to be eligible)

This is your chance to enrich your UQ experience by mentoring aspiring engineers of tomorrow. Your old school might even be attending!

Please check with your semester time-table before committing to volunteer. To register for 1, 2 or 3 days, click the button in the top right before Monday, 12 February.
