
2018 OzHPV Challenge
Event Information
Description
The Challenge is OzHPV's Annual national competition to determine Australia's fastest and most practical Rider and human powered vehicle combination! This year's event is being held at the Belmont Criterium Track in Geelong, a challenging 2.1km bicycle specoific circuit.
Competitors will race in two streams of events:
Speed based events on Saturday consisting of a Time Trial, Criterium race, Fastest Speed (flying 100m), 1hr road race and Elimination drag race (100m). The Speed champion will be determined from each competitor's best 4 results of the 5 speed races
Most practical vehicle events on Sunday consist of an obstacle coarse, Go-Whoa, Cargo moving, Dual slalom (elimination) and By popular demand race. Australia's most practical vehicle will be determined from each competitor's best 4 results of the 5 practical races.
A Grand Champion will also be crowned, from the best 8 results from the 10 events.
Riders should ride the same vehicle for all Speed OR Practical vehicle vehicle events. Competitors are free to race any human powered vehicle they choose however must meet the Vehicle Rules of section 3.1 of https://www.ozhpv.org.au/files/OzHPV%20Competition%20Rules%20Dec-2017.pdf
Junior pricing is considered as still at secondary school or equivalent. Junior category will be U18 at the date of the event - further junior age categories will be determined according to demand.
Veteran will be all entrants 40 and older. Additional categories will be added if there is sufficient interest.
