Event description

Description

One in 12 Australians has osteoarthritis and there is currently no cure. It is the most common form of arthritis by far, accounting for over half of all cases of arthritis in Australia, and is one of our leading causes of chronic pain, disability and lost productivity. On the positive side, there are many medical treatments to relieve symptoms and slow the progression of the disease. How often is surgery the right intervention, and why?

The Menzies Debate will feature six expert speakers, all kept in line by the funny and irreverent Bernie Hobbs from ABC Science. You get to vote on the outcome!

Drinks and nibbles from 5.30pm
Debate 6pm-7.30pm
