Description

"The New Art and Science of Teaching... represents my perspective on the current state of knowledge about effective teaching. It is a perspective that certainly draws from the past but also shines light on the possible future."- Marzano, The New Art and Science of Teaching, p. 2.

Presenter Luke Vanni, an experienced teacher from St Patrick's College (Shorncliffe) will explore aspects of Marzano's comprehensive educational framework now known as The New Art and Science of Teaching.

We will consider how to implement aspects of this framework in your classroom and in your development of planning and assessment documents. Specifically, we will focus on setting learning goals, developing learning scales and using these to inform unit planning. This workshop will be practical in nature. Where possible, you will be working with colleagues in similar teaching areas. You may like to bring your laptop, timetable and any planning you may already have organised for 2018.

This workshop is open to Independent Education Union - QLD & NT members only. Our union offers free membership to students studying education at university and discounted membership to graduate teachers. Join our union online at www.qieu.asn.au/join

Alternatively, you can join our union on the day of the workshop.
