Event description

Description

The Immunisation Coalition's 2018 Adult Immunisation Forum is being held in Adelaide on Friday 8th June, to coincide with and immediately following, the 16th PHAA National Immunisation Conference at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Building on the success of our 2017 forum, the 3rd Adult Immunisation Forum aims to:

  • Enhance understanding of the burden of vaccine preventable diseases and the challenges for improving vaccination in adults
  • Offer effective immunisation implementation strategies in adults
  • Understand the challenges around vaccination of younger adults

Addressing some of the challenges of vaccination in older persons is becoming a topic of increasing interest among health care professionals.

This forum will include a range of topics including:

  • Monitoring of immunisation and outcomes – Shelly McNeil
  • Effective immunisation implementation strategies
  • Elderly immunisation/immunosenescence – Janet McElhaney
  • Pneumococcal Disease vaccination and epidemiology update
  • Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)
  • Zoster update

The forum will also address vaccination of younger adults:

  • Influenza and pregnancy
  • Meningococcal B, W & Y
  • Online immunisation training programs

The forum will be of particular interest to health professionals, immunisation specialists, policy makers and anyone else working on the front line of public health.
