2018-19 Annual Community Strengthening Grants Celebration

Join the City of Boroondara, the Rotary Club of Balwyn and other successful applicants in celebrating the awarding of the 2018-19 Annual Community Strengthening Grants.

The event will commence with the Leo Baeck Centre performing Israeli dancing. We will then showcase three very different organisations who received a grant in 2017-18. Guest presenters will share stories and insights from their projects

• Connected Community Hackerspace is a community-operated workshop, where people can meet and work on technology projects. Hear about the safety improvements made to the workshop and how this has had an impact on the group and participants.
• Kew Home of Chinese, Learning English, Friendship and Conversation held weekly English conversation classes while building friendships.
• Dance for Parkinson's Camberwell received funding to create a short film enabling local residents with Parkinson’s disease to experience the choreographic, rehearsal and performance process of creating and performing a dance production.
