Public Forum

Topic: Examining access to justice for those with an enduring power of attorney who are suffering financial abuse

Please join members of the Australian Centre for Health Law Research, Crime and Justice Research Centre and ADA Australia for light refreshments in QUT's Gibson Room followed by the forum.

Register: By Friday 25 August 2017

About the forum:
This public forum will present the research findings from a collaborative research project between ADA Australia, ACHLR and CJRC. The forum will examine issues around both barriers and enablers to accessing justice, faced by individuals experiencing financial abuse where there is a valid enduring power of attorney (EPA) in place. ACHLR and CJRC researchers will discuss the findings of the research while ADA Australia will speak about issues confronting service providers. There will be an expert panel discussing approaches, problems and challenges arising out of common scenarios as well as responding to attendee questions. This forum will enable both presenters and attendees to discuss pressing issues arising from the increasingly prevalent issue of financial abuse as a result of abuse of EPAs.
