This workshop is aimed at pre-service and school teachers at any level in South Australia, who would like to learn or get further practice with visual programming.
Visual programming languages remove syntax complexity by allowing "drag-and-drop" code writting. The workshop will focus mainly in Scratch: (2D animation environment for primary and middle school students) but will also explore Blockly and Kodu. It will include 3 hands-on lab sessions:
- introduction to VP (Scratch, ScratchJunior, Blockly, Kodu)
- incorporting Visual Programing into the primary curriculum (maths, english)
- using picoboards and/or makey-makeys to interact with Scratch programs.
Workshop registration includes all sessions, morning tea and lunch.
