Description

Join us for a spectacular road riding experience in the Mitta Valley. Quiet roads, amazing views and fantastic company! Make your way (or jump on the provided bus) to Anglers Rest on Thursday 28th and stay the night in the high country near the Blue Duck.

The MMMR will then start near the Bluck Duck the following morning where you'll ride to the Mitta Valley along the picturesque Omeo Highway. This undulating ride is approximately 80km. All riding abilities catered for with rest stops along the way.

To reward you for your awesome riding efforts, we'll put on some entertainment and great food in Mitta on the Friday night so be sure to book your accom for that night as well to make the most of your time in the Mitta Valley!

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

If you are under 18 and believe you're capable of riding 80km of hilly roads then we'd love to have you on board! We just ask that you have an adult ride with you for the duration of the event.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

As part of your entry, we will be providing bus transportation for all riders to the start point at the Blue Duck. This will leave mid afternoon on Thursday 28th December. The bus will leave from Magorra Park, Mitta and there will be plenty of car spaces for you to leave your car there so it's ready for your return on Friday.

You/your family are very welcome to make your own way to Anglers Rest however we will not be responsible with getting your car back to Mitta afterwards.

We will have a bike trailer for all the bikes, and on the ride day, this mini bus/trailer will be the 'sag wagon' should you decide you've had enough.

What do I bring to the event?

Bike - essential! Please bring a bike which is in good working order. Perhaps have it serviced prior and don't forget to have the tires pumped up (or bring a pump with you!) We had a few people ride mountain bikes at the 2016 event but as the event is 100% on asphalted roads, the ride will be a lot easier with road tyres on your bike.

Nutrition - We will have a number of aid stations along the way but we recommend having 2 drink bottles with you and to take food with you on the bike just in case. The types of food/drink provided at the aid stations would be fruit, water, sports drink, lollies.

Appropriate clothing - Please keep an eye on the weather forecast in the lead up to the event and bring appropriate clothing based on this. During the 2016 event, it rained non-stop! Seeing the event is in summer there is also a chance it could be very hot so keep this in mind also. We are also in the High Country so temps can drop overnight.

Camping gear - Accom the night before is at the Anglers Rest camp ground. Please BYO tent/swag and sleeping gear. We'll transport this to the start, and back to Mitta for you. If you're not the camping type then there is cabin accom available through the Blue Duck but it is your responsibility to coordinate, and pay for this.

Dinner on Thursday - we will be walking the 100m to the Blue Duck Inn for dinner on Thursday night. Dinner and drinks are at your expense. Meals are typical 'pub meal' and come with great hospitality and the comfort that you're supporting a fantastic small business. You are of course welcome to cook your own meal back at the campsite. You're responsible for coordinating all logistics for this.

Breakfast Friday morning - we will be providing fruit, cereal and perhaps a hot option for breakfast on Friday morning. If you have any food allergies we need to cater for, please let us know prior to the event and we can try and cater for you.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please bring a copy of your ticket on your phone, or a paper copy. Whatever is easier. If you forget then we'll ask to see some id.

Can I update my registration information?

If you've got any changes you need to make, please email manager@mittavalley.com.au

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

We understand that sometimes things change and you can no longer make the event. We're open to transferring your rego to someone else but ask that you show us some consideration and do this PRIOR to the day. Ideally 1 week before and ask that the original ticket holder contact us.
