Description

The BGKLLEN in partnership with Bayside, Kingston and Glen Eira Youth Services and Holmesglen Moorabbin will again be hosting the At Risk Forum.

The 2017 At Risk Forum will include:

  • 2 Keynote speakers – Domestic and Family Violence (Meredith Dalton, Lifeline) and Gender Diversity (Starlady, Zoe Belle Gender Collective)

  • Choice of one of two sessions – Anxiety or School Refusal

  • Networking opportunities

  • Morning tea and a light lunch will be provided

This forum is suitable for school personell, youth workers, social workers and any other professionals working directly with young people in the Bayside, Glen Eira and Kingston regions.

Keynote speakers biographies;

Meredith Dalton

A background in Clinical Neuropsychology, working in clinical positions in several Melbourne hospitals over a 17 year period. Employed with Lifeline Melbourne since 2009, in various roles since that time, including supervising the Phone Room, working as a Clinical Supervisor providing clinical supervision and debrief, and as a trainer. Training roles have included training the volunteers who work on the phones (Crisis Support Workplace Training), training ASIST (suicide intervention), DV-alert and more recently Mental Health First Aid (both Standard and Youth courses). Currently in the Corporate and Community Training role with Lifeline Melbourne delivering these workshops, plus a number of additional short courses, including DV Awareness programs.

Starlady - Zoe Belle Gender Collective Youth Project Officer

Starlady joined the ZBGC team in 2016 as the Youth Project Officer. She holds a number of community volunteer positions, including with VAC’s transgender and gender diverse working group and the Victorian Government Trans Expert Advisory Group. She recently relocated to Melbourne after seven years living in central Australia delivering youth focused hairdressing and fashion workshops in remote Indigenous communities. Whilst living in the Northern Territory she played a key role in advocating for LGBTIQ communities and the development of organisational inclusive practice. She has a strong passion for intersections between culturally & linguistically diverse (CALD) and same sex attracted, intersex & gender diverse (SSAIGD ) communities.
