Event Details

With a focus on linking people and business this event will inspire the vision, courage and strategies required to build on the strengths of our local community for generations to come.

Come along to hear our guest speaker for 2016, Bob Beaumont.

Bob joined his father at the age of 18 in a small business selling tiles and other wholesale goods to the building trade. Together they grew the busines while Bob studied marketing.

In 1978 Bob became General Manager and Beaumont Tiles grew to multiple locations.

Today the business is the largest tile retailer in Australia, with over 100 outlets (about half company owned and hal ffranchises) as well as extensive trade operations in SA, VIC, NSW and QLD. Beaumont Tiles employs more than 450 people in addition to those employed by their franchises. Bob remains actively involved in the business and can’t think of anything more boring than retirement.  Last year in recognition of years of achievement, he was recognized by Ernst & Young with a Champion of Entrepreneurship award. Bob attends Blackwood Hils Baptist Church where he has worshiped and served for nearly 40 years. He and his wife Sue run a Small Group in their home.

The Christian Pastoral Support Program is run by the Schools Ministry Group and given essential support by local support groups such as the Mount Barker Ministers Fellowship. There are over 320 CPS workers who offer a unique dimension of care and support to students, families and staff. They are trained and experienced and work alongside and complement other welfare and well being staff in schools. Christian Pastoral Support Workers in government schools have two main tasks - to support the school in its aim to be a safe and supportive learning environment and to link families to community resources and services
