Description
Public libraries proactively address state and national education agendas and provide literacy programs and services, accessible by the whole community. Join us for a literacy forum to discuss digital literacy and the role of public libraries.
Listen to a keynote address from Tim O'Leary, hear presentations from respected industry professionals about Queensland’s place and direction in the digital economy, attend workshop sessions for deeper engagement, and hear from industry experts in a panel discussion.

- Dr Helen Farley, Australian Digital Futures Institute, University of Southern Queensland on their digital literacies program and building e-literacy skills with incarcerated students.
- Dr Justine Humphry, University of Western Sydney and author of Homeless and connected: mobile phones and the internet in the lives of homeless Australians.
- Yvette Adams - serial entrepreneur and ICT Woman of the Year at the iAwards in 2013 and her business The Creative Collective
- Grant Young - Director, Indigenous Digital Excellence Hub, National Centre for Indigenous Excellenc (NCIE)
- Margaret Hockings, Service Centre Manager, my.gov.au Brisbane CBD
- Margaret Warren, Discovery SeErvices, State Library of Queensland on what to digitise and why
- Simon Groth, Founder, IF:Book Australia which explores new forms of digital literature and the changing connections between writers and readers
