Please join us for this special discussion on the 2013 Defence White Paper. Featuring some of Australia's top defence thinkers, including past White Papers authors, this panel will discuss the new Defence White Paper, what it says, the judgements and claims it makes about Australia's security environment and defence capabilities, as well as what these panellists believe should have also been included. Please join us for drinks with the panellists after the event from 7:30pm onwards.

Emeritus Professor Paul Dibb, AM, is Emeritus Professor of Strategic Studies at the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, ANU. Paul is the former Deputy Secretary of Defence and author of the 1986 Dibb review on Australia's Defence Capabilities.
Professor Hugh White is Professor of Strategic Studies at the Australian National University. From 1995 to 2000 he was Deputy Secretary for Strategy and Intelligence, and author of the 2000 Defence White Paper.
Dr Richard Brabin-Smith, AO, is a visiting fellow at the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National. He had held many senior positions in Defence, including Deputy Secretary for Strategic Policy and Chief Defence Scientist.
Admiral Chris Barrie, AC, is a visiting fellow at the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre. He was Chief of the Defence Force from 1998 till 2002.
