This two day, introductory / refresher course introduces a framework for understanding dispute resolution, in particular the 'diamond, facilitation model’ of mediation practice, and assists participants to develop beginning skills in facilitating negotiated outcomes for parties in dispute. The course focuses on developing the participants' ability to understand conflict, its impact on self and on others.
This interMEDIATE Dispute Management Pty Ltd foundational/refresher course presents the stages of the facilitated/transformative/negotiation mediation model, and provides opportunities for skill development through the use of structured role plays in each of these stages. The course also introduces concepts of ethical mediation practice.
Intending participants should be aware that this course cannot, on its own, lead to accreditation as a dispute resolution practitioner. It is designed to develop or refresh essential skills in dispute and conflict resolution and would be suited to project managers, supervisors, team leaders, administrators, human resource staff and professionals in the social sciences (e.g. psychologists, social workers) wishing to develop their skills in assisting clients in disputes with others.
This course is conducted throughout by (min.) two interMEDIATE Dispute Management Pty Ltd trainers, who will be assisted as necessary by additional coaches.
