This interactive session is designed to give participants the skills to effectively manage large groups in the LMS using Sections and Groups. Participants will be given the opportunity to watch demonstrations and complete activities in the LMS. 

Topics covered in this webinar include:

  • What are Sections? What are Groups? What’s the difference? 
  • Using Sections to communicate with and manage large groups 
  • Using Groups for supporting group activities and collaboration 
  • Considerations for creating and moderating online discussions in the LMS 
  • Overview of collaboration tools available  

Intended learning outcomes

  • Differentiate between Sections and Groups, and how and when to use them
  • Create Groups and manage group enrolments
  • Identify how to create group activities such as Group Discussions and Group Assignments
  • Send announcements to Sections and Groups
