Event description

Description

The Great Irish Famine Commemoration Committee with the support of the Irish Ambassador & Irish Consulate in association with Sydney Living Museums warmly invite you to the 18th Annual Commemoration at the Great Irish Famine Monument.

The address will be given by Dr Jeff Kildea, Adjunct Professor in Irish Studies at the University of New South Wales. Dr Kildea is an accomplished historian, lecturer and author of many books on the subject of Irish-Australian history.

Attendees are invited to bring a floral tribute to the event to be laid at the monument during proceedings.

If you are descendant, you might also like to make up a name badge with your orphan girl's name, ship and county.

This year, in line with the GIFCC Association's constitution, we are offering the chance for attendees to sign up for an annual membership. This will help continue the work of the GIFCC and keep our events running. For more information, visit our Facebook page or view the Constitution on our website.
