Event description

Description

16 Days of Activism is a global campaign to raise awareness about violence against women. 16 Days of Activism commences on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women/White Ribbon Day (25 November) and ends on International Human Rights Day (10 December).

Melton City Council is celebrating this annual campaign with a range of free community events that encourage community members to take action to end violence against women and promote gender equality.

We encourage community members to sign up to become a 16 Days Activist, and select from a range of actions to help raise awareness and understanding to help prevent violence against women. http://16daysactivist.whwest.org.au/register/

This special screening of Justice League as part of 16 Days of Activism aligns with the action 'Look for Gender Bias in Film and TV'. We will be having a short discussion as part of this screening to help viewers think about the role that women play in movies, and the sort of gender stereotypes and gender roles that exist.
