The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence is a global campaign dedicated to ending gender-based violence and raising awareness about the impact of violence against women. It begins on the InternationalDay for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (November 25) and ends on the InternationalHuman Rights Day (December 10) to emphasise that violence against women is a violation of human rights.
In support of this campaign, we are hosting a panel discussion exploring the power of storytelling in raising awareness of family violence and its impact. Storytelling is a powerful connector enabling people to develop empathy, explore issues and discuss ideas. Both authors on our panel have written recent novels where family violence and its impact are explored.
The novels: The Eye of the Sheep by Sofie Laguna and Stay with me by Maureen McCarthy.
