Event Details

Western Australia boasts the longest coastline, the most islands and the most

remote capital city in Australia. Potential risks from climate change, such as

changing seasonal patterns, sea level rise and higher temperatures, provide

both challenges and opportunities for Australia’s largest state.

 

The National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF), together

with the Western Australian Marine Science Institution (WAMSI) would like to

highlight research for climate change adaptation relevant to Western Australia.


This invitational event will address:issues for policy makers and coastal managers .

The National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility leads theresearch community in a national interdisciplinary effort to generate theinformation needed by decision-makers in government and in vulnerablesectors and communities to manage the risks of climate change impacts. The Western Australian Marine Sciences Institution has carried out researchinto climate change, biodiversity, the iconic Ningaloo Marine Park, sustainablefisheries, biotechnology and oceanography.
