Description

Diverse Voices is offering FREE ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training to frontline workers and volunteers in the LGBTIQ+ community sector across Brisbane. This training is open to anyone who works or volunteers with LGBTIQ+Sistergirl or Brotherboy people and is wanting to learn more about how to support their clients or peers when feelings of suicide arise. In this training you will learn:

  • How to recognise the signs of suicide,
  • How to talk to someone about suicide,
  • How to action an intervention or support someone in crisis, and,
  • How to connect someone to support services.

This training is suitable for anyone wanting to learn how to support a person who is suicidal or in crisis.

Please note: this training is delivered over 2 days. Attendance at both days in full is required to receive accreditation.

All training costs are covered under the National Suicide Prevention Trial and Diverse Voices, including registration fees, workshop materials and catering. Please note we cannot reimburse your time or cover wages for staff to attend this training.

Diverse Voices has received funding to deliver this project through Brisbane North PHN, we have a limited number of spots for training that cannot be rainchecked, redeemed or made up at a later date. We appreciate all attendees commitment to attend the training in full.

We look forward to seeing you at this training and working with us to build a safer and happier LGBTIQ+ community.

With thanks,
